Stem Length

I have a new set of Pike 426s which I am VERY pleased to have bought off a mate. The only thing is that when I tried to set it up on my Marin B17 2009 frame, the steerer tube length wasn't QUITE long enough for the stem to be attatched over the ENTIRE tube. The top screw going down though can reach. Is this a problem?
Thanks in advance!

Tom

as long as the top of the steerer tube is above the top clamping bolt you will be fine.

for the preload bolt get a longer one.
