Tubeless is terrible

I have fitted the Caffetto tubless conversion kit to my Spesh Stump.

I have The captain tyres fitted as standard, The problem is I just did a few bunny hops in my garage. Nothing special and sealant came squirting out the rim.

How on earth am I meant to trust this out on the trail?

Did you shake the sealant around the tyre properly to insure a proper seal before bouncing around on the tyre?

I've used a Joe's conversion kit before and had no problems at all now running tubeless wheel set and have now problems with that either.

Yep I gave it a really good shake, The wheel is fully sealed until I did a few hops.

as soon as I stop hoping, it seals again.

What rims / wheels you using? I have run the 2.0 and 2.2 s-works and control captains on rovals and dt420sl without sealant they seal so well. Have lefy 65psi overnight without sealant and them be rock hard on morning and done the north downs at 25psi wothout a flutter; so something is wrong:

    - is your rim twisted after a jump and held true by spokes but overflexing on a hop? I had this with a front dt420sl (find it completely bent when took for a true to lbs)

    - you using overly narrow rims with too fatter tyres or vice versa?

    - you bunny hoppong like mgaskill on 20psi?

    - is it both whhels or just one?

    Either way, something not right!
s-works stumpy FSR, sl2 tarmac, siglespeed rockhopper and a bog standard allez

What rims? I'd imagine that there too much free movement of the bead, try packing out your rim-strip a touch more (if UST rims then ignore this)
  • I rdie the home made tubless style, and I Love it. takes 24 hours to settle properly once re fitted though

Sounds like user error, or you didn't get it sealed as well as you thought you did. Or loose nipples, or cracked rim. If it comes squirting out of the rim itself I somehow don't think it's a problem the tubeless.
