Sorry for what will be a stupid question but if I want to shorten my carbon seatpost, is it as simple as deciding the length and then taking a standard hacksaw to it?
Thanks in advance.

You can get dedicated carbon fibre hacksaw blades like this one

Given how much carbon fibre stuff costs its probably worth investing in the right tool for the job so that you don't end up splintering it!!
