Wheelset DT Swiss 445D from an FSR

I've just won a set of DT swiss 445D wheels on ebay for a very good price. I was intending to put them on the hardrock with an 8 speed cassette. Will this work if I have the right spacer ? I'm not quite ready to upgrade to 9 or 10 speed yet and hope that I haven't made a mistake buying these ?

which FSR is it? as you may have made a different error.
