All Assos removed (save for the Lightweight stuff).
Lucky I got in there this morning. They must have twigged.

That's odd as every other sale they've had has included the Assos stuff. I've bought a lot of my Assos in their sales.
Still - you can usually STILL get it cheaper elsewhere. But not by much!
At least now they are publicly excluding the Garmin 800  But nothing else is excluded. Except what they have 'hidden'.0 -
Wiggle don't do bargains. Makes me laugh how they try and win us over with all these so-called discounts.
They are telling us,for example that the Hed3 clincher front wheel is £700 rrp or the Zipp 900 tubular disc is £1450 rrp. Take 20% off these prices and you still end up paying more than virtually anywhere else.
I have not bought any components from Wiggle for over two years because i have not found them anywhere near as competitive as several other online retailers and even worse, they try to insult our intelligence by offering worthless discounts which we can easily see are no such thing.0 -
To be fair, Uno's at £94 this morning was a bargain. And better than everywhere else. So they must have realised and removed all Assos. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Yeah, it might have been a bargain, but it was obviously unintentional if they have now removed them.0 -

I can just imagine the sales team at Wiggle all sitting round drinking coffee and whatching the xmas sales roll in. Then someone buys the Uno's for £94 and one guy spits his coffee out
"Nooooooo, someone has just had a bargain! !"
"Holy sh1t what are we going to do"
"This could get worse, what if more people start getting bargains?"
"Hmmm, I know let's remove all possible bargains from the website until the xmas offer ends"
"That's a great idea, let's just hope the boss didn't notice that someone got a bargain"0 -
wonder if thats why they have stopped the haribo??!! trying to recover their losses after someone had a bargain?!!0
-
Even at £94, surely Wiggle would still be making a profit?
Doesn't make sense removing them. They might've got my money for them but I'll obviously go elsewhere now!0 -
For my latest bike build I shopped around for small parts from Wiggle, CRC, JEJames etc. as I realised I needed them (chain split pins, spare chain, front mech, outer cables and so on). Even using free delivery option Wiggle items arived fast and did not hold me up, all others have still not arrived expect for CRC who supplied me an Ultegra SL front mech in a labelled Ultegra SL front mech bag and was clearly plain silver with no dark anodised finish on it anywhere. I kept it as it was cheap and I'm not that fussy but only Wiggle have had a consistently high standard and I find this time and time again.0

Powertaps included this time though and they are already amongst the cheapest!Your Past is Not Your Potential...0

Removing its entire Assos stock, if that is what Wiggle has done, is unbelievable. If a discount offer excludes certain products then be up front about it (it's not surprising if certain brands have lower margins making it bad business for Wiggle to include them in such sales). But to deal with the problem by removing the entre range from the site is both unprofessional and underhanded.
I've been a regular and previously very happy customer of Wiggle for a couple of years. Really not impressed Wiggle if you're playing games with your customers.
My wife very kindly bought me a very impressive Assos jacket using last weekend's 20% discount offer. I am uncertain of the size so was going to order the next size up to compare, knowing I'd have to return one. As far as I can see Wiggle has now stopped stocking all Assos, so now will just have to return the size we ordered and look elsewhere. Two can play this game.0 -
Err, maybe wiggle have run out of Assos stock? They never seem to hold much anyway.0
-
If only it were true that it's just they're out of stock.
Every last pair of socks, gloves, baselayers, jerseys, shorts....all suddenly disappeared.
They've even removed Assos the from the pull-down list of brands they stock0 -

I ordered Uno's on Friday morning WITH the code. Then, suddenly, every item of Assos was taken off the site. (Lightweight aside).
Even thelinks in google shopping link to product not found.
Pretty bad IMO, they could have excluded them just like the Garmin. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

even the chamois creme got removed :roll:Your Past is Not Your Potential...0

That really stinks, they obviously take us for fools! I've just looked through my last half dozen orders and they came from CRC and Ribble, so it looks like my money's going elsewhere already...........0

ShutUpLegs wrote:Err, maybe wiggle have run out of Assos stock? They never seem to hold much anyway.
ha, likely story! just the same as when they had 'run out' of the garmin edge 800 during the 20% off offer at end of nov and wouldnt have it available until the new year - then 2 days after the offer ended they had lots of stock.
wait and see, next weekend they will have the same 20% off offer but this time assos will be on the excluded list.
fair enough, a sale is always good. but misleading customers isnt.0 -
Assos don't like their stuff being discounted. It is by a long shot the best cycling kit bar none so why discount it? I'll happily pay full price for Assos as I know that I'll still be wearing it in 5 years time.
Have spent over £500 with Wiggle in the past couple of days and can'r recommend them enough. Top service and good prices.0 -
the annoying thing is that i can get the discount code for the garmin 800 to work in my shopping basket, but when i get to the final step of confirming the paypal or credit card then the discount has vanished...frustrating0

And about 3/4 of other retailers out there? I don't think I've paid full price for any of my Assos stuff yet!0 -

Well done you. I don't pay for my assos kit so any discounts are irrelevant, all I am saying is that they don't like it being discounted. Read into that what you like.0 -

I don't pay for assos but if I didn't get it free I would happily pay for it. I hope that makes a little more sense, and thanks for pointing out my foolishness.0 -

Okay Rodrego, but I bet you wouldn't be averse to a discount if you were paying for it yourself0 -
True, I wouldn't but that wouldn't be the only reason to buy it and if there were no discount I would still be happy to pay full price were it not for the fact that I don;t pay for it.
The point I was making was that Assos don't like their product being discounted. That isn't to say that it never gets discounted, just that they don't want their brand to be de-valued by being constantly offered at a discount. They are less likely to be worried about small retailers discounting than they are about large chains like wiggle who also source their kit from other supply chains.
I think that about sums it up but have forgotten what the original point of this thread was so apologies to the OP.0 -

It's constantly discounted at most big chains including Wiggle. Ribble being one of the major ones.
Today the Uno's are reduced pretty much everywhere. Yet still missing entirely from Wiggle. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Just ordered some 607's from Westbrook. Top company.
I won't post a discount code but it's there in your basket to copy if you do buy from them. And I've always found them to be an excellent company. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

are you having a laugh?? so long as their product is selling im sure they arent fussed at how retailers discount it. i mean its only the retailers losing out not assos.
besides, you are getting distracted from the point, wiggle are claiming to have a sale across their site....but they are misleading customers as its clearly only on certain products and their hide things they dont want to be included.
im following lead of others on here, bye bye wiggle.0 -
leboss - that's not true - a LOT of manufacturers do not like their products being discounted. For example - Brompton keep a close eye on the price their products are sold at and don't allow them to be discounted - I believe that the rational for this is that it promotes "fairness" amongst their vendors and prevents larger stores from undercutting smaller stores and it keeps Bromptons placed where they want in the market. So they do care.
And Wiggle make it clear that their product is "site-wide", EXCLUDING certain products. this is pretty usual.http://www.georgesfoundation.org
