Bought a Vision 2 light a couple of months ago, take it off when I get to work, and found one of the rubber grips had come out of the mount and stuck to the handlebar as if was freezing at the time.

This got me worried i'd lose one, but Hope sent me a new set for free in the post within a day of asking - Hooray.

  • Dropped my battery holder, shattered it. Emailed to ask them where I could buy a new one. Sent me one for free.

    Facebook? No. Just say no.
  • E-mailed to inform them that lithium battery pack had failed after 2 years use (warranty was only for 12 months) Hoped to get a cheaper replacement than paying the £60 quoted by LBS - replacement sent immediately and free of charge once I'd returned the knackered unit.

After reading that Merlin thread, it's nice to read about a company that actually knows how to treat their customers!

The Hope disk brakes on my MTB are still working well after 10 years use.

Hope service is the best I have ever seen. A British company too. It certainly made me use them again.

Hope customer service is top rate.

If have seen them at a good few events over the years an they have always been really helpful with advice on their products and fixing things that have gone wrong.
  • To be fair I bought the light from Merlin as it was significantly cheaper than elsewhere during a promotion, and can't fault them - didn't have any issues to complain about though, so can't comment on customer service.

The MTB that my Hope brakes are on is a Merlin Cycles Rock Lobster and I'm very happy with it.

The Merlin that people are complaining about is the up-market US company, see the thread linked to by tofu21.
