Been nosing around for a while at wheelsets, and Keep coming back to American classics,
does anyone out there use the tubeless set?? if so what are they like to ride on? stif?flexy?? any tyre seating issue's, do they hold up well??
am very much liking that they are sub 1500g and rider weight of upto 240lb and also can be had for under £400!
any real life reviews would be gratefully received!!

Hi there,
I purchased the am classic mtb 26 disc wheelset just over a month ago. The wheelset is light and looks the part. Unfortunately i am already experiencing problems with the rear hub, slipping or not engaging.
After doing some research this may be caused by the grease thickening within the freehub body. It seems that the hub is quite high maintenance and requires stripping and regreasing every couple of months depending depending on useage. Not quite the fit and forget hub i was hoping for.
I can only comment on my own experiences, but hope it's of some use.

I have been using the 225 rear and 15mm thru front for nearly a year ish now and been very happy with them indeed. Rarely wash the bike so they are generally covered in mank and i cover decent miles per week on them.
Never missed a beat, easy to look after by all accounts (took one apart to check it out inside), in fact i have been so impressed that we have decided to start stockin AM wheels in the shop.
We are starting with Road as that's where the majority are sold but I will get round to listing MTB soon enough.
If you have any particlar q's then please ask away.
they are very light hubs, i have mine built into Stand 355 rims. Light wheels all told.

thanks mark,
i know they come with stans from a few shops but am not overly keen on stans, no real reason but not one to follow the crowds as such!! and that i like the fact the AM wheels have a Good weight limit! i used to have the Racing snake physique, but sadly these days its closer to a Racing snake thats eaten a Goat! loL!
just after some real reviews from different impartial people!!!Timmo.
