Would you trust such a frame?

Hello fellow riders. My question is excactly as shown in the subject line. I recently came across a used bike which is made entirely out of carbon fibre and the price is out of this world. The frame is completely black so after asking the owner about it he said that it is made from a Chinese based company called FLYXII. I checked on the net and indeed there is such company which makes frames and all sorts of parts and the prices are trully hard to believe! :D
So back to my question, would you trust such a bike-frame? I am asking because i think that many lower level brands have their frames made in china anyway and you end up paying just for the name on it and the pretty colors it is painted with. Could this be a true bargain?

The company's site is: www.flyxii.com

All thoughts, comments, opinions most welcome! Thanks in advice!

Of course they're cheap cos they possibly don't exist. You'll send your money off and not hear from them again.

Probably yet another indonesian or chinese web site which is phoney, beware of this as others have been scammed by a few different companies like this.

Stick to well known names, from legitimate companies whose web sites are more credible!

Of course i agree but the bike i saw & is up for sale exists! My question is not wether you would order a frame from china, my question is would you buy a second hand full carbon bike from such a company?

Would I order a frame from China? There is a well known Chinese company dealing in titanium which I would entertain but that is all. This carbon set up I would stay well away from. And second hand? No.

It's not just lower end brands that have carbon frames built in China and Taiwan. There've been some posts on weightweenies about Chinese frames and wheels. The main problem as far as I can see is that you just don't really know how it will ride.

There are threads on WW and RBR on the same subject - many people have dealt with and had good experience with some of the Chinese sellers, so don't tar them all with the same brush. The frames from the likes of Martek and Advanced Composites often have the biggest brands and biggest mark-ups!
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

I always wonder about some of these chinese companies that sell frames for very cheap prices. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of knowledge applied towards engineering a frame that has certain performance traits. Rather they seem to try to copy the work of others asthetically without much concern for ride quality or putting in the huge amount of hours needed for testing and refinement. An example here is the different types of forks offered. Some are the wavey types similar to Pinarello, some have similar design to other major brands, but all are about the same price with no description of performance charactaristics. http://www.flyxii.com/products.asp?menuid=315. They are selling what they think looks like what people want to buy. I could very well be wrong and from what I have seen most of these small factories have very good craftsmanship but the design expertise seems to be pirated from other builders and missing out on the many minute details required to create a certain ride quality. A bit like copying a Ferrari in appearance only. Some have reported on the good quality of their Ti frames from one chinese company, of which I can't remember the name, but they did have to create their own blueprint. I do get tired of seeing the hard work of others being copied (sort of) and sold for cheap in China. To answer the OPs' original question. Best to ride it first. The build quality is probably good but hard to know for sure. If you want a reasonable guarantee that it will be a quality frame it's best to stay with the known brands.
