Just had a trip down to my LBS, www.cyclestore.co.uk and picked up a pair of these...

http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDeta ... ctID=17463

They seem very good indeed. I got them for general purpose hand warming (e.g. pelting my 4 year old with a very compacted snowball) as well as on the bike. One of the lads in there says he's been using his on his motorbike they're that good.

They are a two part glove so you can use the liner when it isn't quite as brass monkeys as it is at the mo.

I'll let you know how I get on but seems to be a reet bargain.

    +1 for these gloves

I bought a pair of these in ctw earlier this year and used the inner glove on it's own up until last week. The inners are asvgood as my winded prendas gloves and although a little bulky with the outer glove on the do keep your hands dry ( remember they will get sweaty ).

Thanks nap d at that price I've bought a 2nd pair. I love bike kit bargains!!!!!!

How are the sizes of these?

I have reasonably long fingers (7 3/4") - so not that large and the size guides put me as a large - but have found the fingers on some gloves too short.

Just about to order some so just want to check. They look idea for snowball fighting :)

bizarre - I was trying on the latest 'claw' version of these yesterday and thought they looked and felt pretty good, but they were £39.99 so I passed on them. Tempted by these though - thanks

I have pretty average sized hands for a blerk and have gone for XL (I was lucky as I got to try some on...)

Just reread my post, I don't mean my hands are pretty and average sized, they are, well, pretty average!

So are you saying your hands are: pretty, not pretty or average size in a 'pretty average kind of way' LOL

Thanks again... Ordered a pair (in L) - so have emailed them to see if they can change them to XL :)

  • NapD - I have ridiculously small hands for a (supposedly) fully grown man. Could you break out the ruler and tell us if their size guide is accurate?

If it is, I should fit into a small - which is handy when they're out of mediums.

Just measured my palm circumference and it's 21.5cmish, but for finger length I was better with the XL. If in doubt, go a size bigger!
  • Talking of Cycle Store bargains have you seen these? A bargain if you are are a slim bean, Specialized Bib shorts for £9 reduced from £59! I believe these are the same shorts the Cycling Weekly gave 9/10

Only a snake would fit in them.
    Smarter than the average bear.
  • Being a snake and a midget is just great around sale time but attracts envious attacks - but then *cough* I have small hands :)

  • Ordered some small gloves and some of those shorts fit for a snake.

And some jelly beans to get free delivery :D
  • Thanks Macondo for the heads up about the bargain bibs for skinny people. Unbelievable price! Do I have to buy a Specialized bike to be allowed to wear them though?

I bought a pair of these from Cyclestore a few months ago in readiness for the upcoming winter. But DOH! I paid £39.99. However they're a good piece of kit so I'll just have to bite the bullet on that one. OT cyclestore is one of the best and most helpful bike shops I've ever dealt with online.

Thanks for the link Nap, i'm awful in the cold and find the cheap aldi gloves that my mum picked up in the charity shop for a couple of quid better than my £30 Endura gloves, bought these and a set of the neoprene ones to give them a go when I hit the road again, for £35 for both I can't go wrong!

FWIW, I'm a very slim build (6ft1 and 67kg) but after measuring my hands went for the XL's, I'll let you guys know of the fit when they arrive.

I tried this years ones and would usually be a L but needed a XL so ordered the XL to hopefully be safe...hope they come fast as we have a long ride out Saturday and they may be useful me thinks

I have a pair of these from last year. I find the inner gloves great and you can wear them in mild/cold conditions on their own. For anything below the 5 degree mark or so you need to wear both sets.

I find them very bulky with both sets on - but they do keep your hands warms. I actually take the outer gloves out on rides when wearing my Assos gloves as a back up - just in case it gets so cold that I need to put them over top.

Thanks for the heads up on these Nap. Ordered Wednesday evening (late), and arrived today. They are quite bulky, but should do the trick on the coldest of days.

That said I never suffered with cold with my other gloves, it's just the velcro would pull the sleeves on all my tops - sealskin windproofs with a pair of thin running gloves under when very cold.

I used to suffer really badly from cold hands until I bought a pair of these gloves a couple of years ago. Slightly bulky but its the bulk that keeps your hands toasty warm and I have never had a problem changing gear or braking.

Seems this thread may have cleaned them out, I showed the gloves to a colleague who went to check and they now only have small & XXL left.

And the small fit my dainty (yet very manly!) hands perfectly.

Another grateful person to the OP, I ordered the Subzero & Neoprene gloves along with the bib shorts for the grand total of £43.98, really pleased with all the items all , a bargain I'd say!

Also I have very small hands and the size small gloves fits me well (in the craft gloves I have to go down to an extra small).
