Why on earth would you voluntarily want to like Private Pike from Dad's Army ??!?!?
You just look like your Mum's dressed you.

Dad's Army or Brideshead Revisited, its how you wear it that counts.0

Quite.
Some of us are cool enough that we don't get a dad's army reference and have to google it.
You are clearly too old...0 -

to be fair i'd say private pike was fine - its the more feminine fold it in two and tuck through the loop I find more disturbing when viewed on men.
anyway - get a buff
its the internet - silly arguements are its raison d'etreLe Cannon [98 Cannondale M400] [FCN: 8]

Yep, scarves are fine - better than a buff for its intended purpose. Mad craziness that anyone would suggest otherwise!Faster than a tent.......0 -
Then there's men who use umrella's.
Sissys.

but a big long flappy scarf isn't that sensible on your commute - wouldn't want to get it caught in the gears/wheels/cranks. buff on the bike, scarf for walking0

Scarves are fine
Scarves with teeshirts seem a bit odd.“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -

The right Buff can set off a suit quite well.

Scarves on men is worng, real men may care more about function over form, but they wouldn't need to wear a scarf if they were real men.
Not as bad as a man wearing Ugg boots though (yes seriously) that was REALLY disturbing, and it wasn't even in Brighton!

A real man knows when he needs to wear a scarf. Only an idiot wanders around freezing to death and thinking that that makes them a real man!
As for Ugg boots - terrible, dreadful, horrible on anyone, male or female. The nastiness of the product transcends any gender issues!Faster than a tent.......0 -

They are slippers. No need for them being worn outside or by men ever.Le Cannon [98 Cannondale M400] [FCN: 8]

If you're ascending everest, wear a scarf.
If you're a Polar Explorer, wear a scarf.
If you're an Alaskan crab fisherman, wear a scarf.
If you're a North-Canadian logger, wear a scarf.
If you're just going to work in the UK, don't wear a scarf because you look like a massive sissy girly.0 -

Probably all excellent examples of exactly the situations where you really shouldn't wear a scarfFaster than a tent.......0 -

As a Brightonian, I take extreme offence at that. What exactly are you saying, that Brighton is full of unfashionable people?
I think that you've got Brighton mixed up with Hove.0 -
As a Brightonian surely you've noticed that other thing Brighton is famous for?0
