Any good substitutes for the 'proper' (expensive) ones?

Thanks.

my bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny
  • I use a roll of rubber sheeting that I bought from a DIY store. It's about 3m by 1m and meant to cover the floor in a workshop or something. I'm not sure it deadens the sound much as it's very hard rubber.

I've heard of people using yoga mats which would probably be better.

  • go down an equine suppliers and buy a stable matter - tougher and deaden the roller noise much better - SCATS if there is one near you

couple do me fine, easy to move/store, the bumps don't matter - the floor in the storage room i use is much rougher!

no need for it under the front wheel

  • I used to use a yoga mat from Home & Bargain. About £1.99... :D

yep, but it's right onto the rough concrete floor

i just use them to cut down noise transmission, actually hadn't thought about people using the turbo in more salubrious surroundings where full cover might be needed for the sake of the floor!
