Hi all , have bust my left hand x7 shifter rather than buy new I was thinking put on my xtr shifters, take of the x9 rear and put on an Ultegra rear . Any reasons I shouldn't? Alternatives? This is for my hybrid (spits) not my MTb
Cheers
For the muddy - Boardman comp frame ( to match the roadie) running saint/ fox
For the blacktop - Boardman Pro Carbon

if the speeds are the same and the mech has the range. and can cope with the cassette big cog.

Ultegra is not rated (Shimano tech docs) to cope with larger gears than 28T, as most MTB are 32 or 34.......if its a Hybrid you could go to a road cluster or Hybrid cluster (SRAM do an 11-26) cassette of course. At least you'll always find a ready buyer for the X9 rear mech with X7 shifter!

The cassette is 34 -11 so I'm thinking I might leave alone and try x9 shifters (can't afford x0)
