Hi can anyone tell me what the advantages of the exposure joystick are over dealextreme p7 torches? I have deal extreme ones but got a 15% discount voucher from evans and am wondering whether to invest in the joystick light.

As far as I'm aware from the what lights discussions, the Joystick is nowhere near as good, and 10 times the price.0

Tried the joystick in an Evans store- looked no better and much more.
would use the voucher for something else.0 -
Slightly lighter, possibly better made mounts.
But that's it IMHO. One of the most overpriced lights on the market, 240 lumens output for an RRP of 165 quid is barmy.0 -
Ok thanks.2010 Specialized Rockhopper

IMO its a toss up between the joystick and the vision 1. But I think its the Joystick that wins.
Why have 240 lumen per amp when you can have 330?0 -
It does cost a lot more though. Same claimed output.0

I don't mind changing batteries every 1-2 hrs. I guess I will stick with my p7 lights. I have two. If they break i will just b more as i have chargers and batteries already.2010 Specialized Rockhopper

I meant its a toss up for your prize of the most overpriced light.0 -
The joystick's just a torch- except that you can't even swap the battery when it goes flat (or dies over summer)Uncompromising extremist0

apart from battery life it's got nothing on a P7. It's also very overpriced!0

IME, the Joystick is very overpriced for what you get - my son has one. When my new P7 arrives, I'll do a comparason test between the two.0

A P7 on a lower power setting or an XPG torch will out-life a Joystick... But being able to change the batteries makes it a non-issue really, unless you never stop riding. It's that which makes the Jostick an outright bad light IMO- it's not the low-ish power or the high price, it's that it's a crippled torch. Give it an easily replacable battery and it'd be a far better proposition.Uncompromising extremist0 -
The Lastest Version of the Joystick does now use an XPG (300 lumens), but Exposure will of had to driven it well below what it can do to ensure it still gets its 3 hr runtime.
Stick with a torch, If you want something like a joystick get a Ultrafire P10-R5, have a better light and £100+ quid in your pocket!0 -
when you consider you can buy the exposure white eye for less than £40 it means you are paying over £100 for a battery, charger and holder, totally bonkers and totally unjustifiable. best combo i have found is a magic shine p7 teamed with the nuke proof extreme or luu charger. if you want a smaller light with awesome runtime then the new 2 cell 200 lumen magicshine light looks a safe bet with 5 hours run time on full and a sub £40 price tag.Viner Salviati
