Shoes for BIG Feet

I am trying to get my first pair of proper road shoes, but I am having difficulty getting a pair to fit.
Normal shoe is a 48. Tried Specialized 48 and Bontranger 49 but both too tight.
I see Shimano go to at least 52, so I am trying to source a pair of Shimano size 50 with a carbon sole, and about £150 max (this is my first pair so want to keep it reasonable).
Does anyone know where I might get them from (and yes I have trawled the net all day without success).
Any help gratefully accepted.

No need to spend £150, try some of these.
Mine are size 48 which are about the same size as a Specialized 48 if that helps. Had them nearly 2 years, very comfy shoes and a bargain at that price. The size 50s have got to be worth a punt at £23, even if you can't try before you buy.Alex0 -
Shimano shoes tend to run a bit small. I take a 47 shoe normally but had to get 48 if I wanted to wear socks with them, let alone heavier winter socks. I didn't know they made larger than 48 or I'd have tried the 49s. But judging from my experience I'd say you'd be okay with a 50.0

Have you tried emailing any of the main retailers? I'm sure they would order some in for you.
PedalOn have some in the right size, but don't think they are carbon soled.XC: Giant Anthem X

I had the same problem last year. Shimanos seem to usually run small. I had to go with a 50. I usually wear a 48 as well.

Im a size 47 shoe and use size 47 northwaves which fit well. I previously bought a pair of diardoras in 47 but they were too small.
I bought the llnked Diadoras in 48 last week and they fit me perfectly. So a 49 could be the answer for you0 -
Thanks all for the suggestions.
I would prefer to try the shoes on before parting with my hard earned, and although I realise all web retailers have an exchange policy I am trying to speed up the process.
Tried on a pair of size 51 SIDI shoes on Saturday and could get my finger down the back. Tried the 48 and it was a bit tight. Now not sure if I need a 49 or 50 SIDI but also believe they do a 49.5. I got alot of help from De Ver cycles in Streatham, and will be contacting them again today with a view of trying all 3 sizes if possible.
