Tektro R580 Eyelet Size
Have been trying to fit some SKS Mudguards to my bike but the included bolts are too small for the eyelets in the Tektro R580 brakes - which are larger than all of the other eyelets for fitting the mudguards - go figure :-(.
Anyone know the diameter/size of the eyelets so I can get some suitable bolts (am unable to find technical specs for these brakes)
William

Should have made my quyestion clearer - the eyelet in the bolt mounting the barkes to the frame   :oops:0

sorry, I'm still none the wiser...
Incidentally, I have full SKS guards on my winter frame, and they fit fine with Tektro brakes - I can't really understand what the problem is.....0 -
OP, can you post a photo to show us which part is causing the problem? Like Montydog and softlad, I'm struggling to picture the annoyance. Sorry.Ben

Not at home at the moment, but its the bolt that used to mount the bracket on the mudguards to the frame by the brakes.
The bolt for the brakes has a "threaded eyelet" in its head (and I was looking to use this rather than take the brakes off and put the mudguard bracket between the brake and frame - to make it quicker to remove come summer). This threaded eyelet is of a larger diameter than the bolts supplied with the mudguards.
Does this make sense?

Think I've got it - eyelet = brake retainer nut? There is a metal straddle bracket the fits over the top of the mudguard and is clamped to the frame by the brake retainer nut - you can either file the hole in the braket bigger to fit the nut or simply fit the bracket between the caliper and the frame. Simply unscrew the caliper retaining nut - move the caliper out the way, refit the caliper with the retainer stud fitting through the bracket and retighten the retainer nut to secure.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
