Hi everyone,

The Kielder Trail Reavers are going to hand build a 1.5km(ish) long downhill stretch on the Lonesome Pine / Bloody Bush route and are looking for additional volunteer trailbuilders to lend a hand and get it built as quickly as possible (months rather than years with current volunteer levels... )

In preperation for this we're having a trail build open day this weekend at 10am on the 20th November (food & drink provided! :D ) so you can come and see our plans, tour the site and see if you'd be interested. We're not asking for you to turn up to every session, just as many as you can and help us build better trails at Kielder. It also gives you the opportunity to shape the trail into something that you want to ride.

To see where this stretch is and for more info see here or here and if you'd like to come along please post your interest on our forum.

The meeting point is the cafe at the castle.

Hopefully see you there...

  • An absolutely cracking day was had at the weekend. We managed to clear the entire stretch of the new route and there are some great plans for this downhill route of the Lonesome Pine.

Hopefully we can keep the impetus rolling and get it finished sooner rather than later as I'm already looking forward to riding it with the ideas that were being thrown around at the weekend (drop offs & gap jumps over ditches for one) although how many of these get past the FC remains to be seen.

    Full report here.

Now if only the FC would provide cake and soup at every build... :D

Keep an eye on the forum part of the KTR website for future build dates if you'd care to come along and help shape the trails.
