Directional Chain?
Hi all,
I've just stripped down my drivetrain and reassembled it but the chain is now running rough (KMC DX10SC on campag veloce). So, does anyone know if it's directional (did search google but no luck) and if not, any pointers?
Thanks,
Max

It's not.
Have you checked that it's threaded through the mech correctly?0 -
Have just checked, it is threaded correctly. I think I'll give the dereileur a tweak and see if that helps.

I was of the understanding that the chain should be assembled with the name/size that is printed on the links, facing away from the chainset? something i have always done.0

What do you mean by "name/size on the links facing away from the chainset"? Some of the writing is the right way round some is upside down.0

As long as the other side of the links are blank, the printed side is the side i assemble facing away from the chainset...ie the right hand side0

Some quick links have to be fitted the right way round - that can cause a chain to slip etc.
it's a hard life if you don't weaken.0 -

except for Shimano DA 7900 (http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/components/chain/product/cn-7900-dura-ace-chain-09-34693) and Ultegra 6700 (http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/components/groupset/road/product/ultegra-6700-groupset-35500)0 -
The chain has writing and both sides. It does have a quick link so that may be the problem. I think it is a "missing link" it splits in to two L shapes I'll s check if it is catching there.
