Looking for a pair of good mud tyres. My Nobby Nics are not great in the sticky mud conditions that are with us now for the winter so i am looking for some decent winter tyres.
Not interested in Mud X's as i have had them blow off the rim when ran tubeless so was looking for other options?

Interesting, might be cause my Nic has lost the edge off most of its nobbles. Maybe time to sling a new one on the back to test it.0

i find the panaracer trail rakers a good tyre, although can be very slippy over roots and rocks in the wet. but excellent in mudAll about the aggregation of marginal gains (or marginal losses, depending on who you are!!)0

Maxxis Medusas are phenomenal in most kinds of mud/sand/snow and not too shabby on loose dirt but they are mediocre on hardpack and positively lethal on wet roots and rocks.
If you really are riding in a lot of mud I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them but if it's more a case of muddy sections mixed with other kinds of terrain I would give them a miss.0 -
I've used Panracer XC Mud Pros for a couple of years now. Awesome grip. Not run them tubeless though.0

Bontrager XR4? Wider than a mud X and more useful in dry conditions. Pretty happy with the grip I get from mine when riding through bogs.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
