changing components

I have a 2009 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp and over the next month I am going to strip and rebuild/replaced worn parts.
I know I need to change the chain and I was wondering if there is anything that you can immediately suggest I could change to shed some weight but maintain the strength.

Unless you're a real weight weenie, just get a basic KMC chain like this (assuming you need 9 speed) KMC chains are the strongest out there.

The weight of your wheels will have a large impact on how the bike handles. But it's often an expensive upgrade.0

Without spending mega-bucks, look at your tyres. What do you have at the moment?
If you're replacing your chain because it's worn, be sure to check chainrings and cassette too.
Depending on what's already fitted, some quality finishing kit from somewhere like Exotic can save a fair bit over standard stuff, and it's pretty cheap.0
