FFS! I got fed up waiting for it and ordered a Rapha Softshell. Yesterday.
Tempted to order one of these as well now, compare them both and then return one of them.0 -
Tis nice, but £150 though....hmm0

zzzzzzzzz ....... boring ........0

looks nice but want to buy something a bit brighter for the winter like a Gore phantom 2 in yellow0
-
The styling is spot on
Why do you need something brighter if you have lights?0 -
I'm talking riding during the day when you sometimes get very lost in the roadside fauna/shadows0

From the description on the Shutt website...
"Featuring details you'd expect on a jacket costing twice as much... High collar: Highly reflective cycling specific trim: Full front zip with stormflap: Zipped front pocket and 2 rear pockets: Double layer windproof wristband: Elasticated rear hem Race specific cut for a great feel on the bike. Suitable for all weathers."
Are they really suggesting I should only expect to get a high collar and a full zip on a £300 jacket!?0 -

mmm... i gave up a few weeks back and bought the rapha too. Its been worn on every ride - commute, training, south downs way on the mtb, going to shops - since I got it, so no regrets. But the shuttvr looks as good for a fair bit less

Although the Rapha is v expensive, if it lasts as long as other owners claim it's likely to then I can live with that.0 -
Exactly why I prefer the Rapha jacket. If you don't mind the Shutt styling on this jacket don't waste your money on Rapha.Pegoretti

I was all set for a Rapha softshell earlier this year as I could get a good discount, and have a lightweight softshell that is superb, but when I tried them on I was really disappointed The sizing is bizarre and the best thing I can describe it as is 'square'... Anything log enough was flappy as hell and anything fitted enough was way too short. I'm a 6' 170lb bloke so not exactly unusual to the cycling world I would have thought...
It instantly brought to mind all the comments about catering to 'oversize' US consumers and sadly I cant even wear it if I wanted any more. I've worn the Shutt jacket (but not on a bike) and its a cracker, with VERY similar/same fabric as the Assos jacket and some nice touches, but didnt go for it purely because of colour choices. I really dont want a black winter jacket but if you dont mind that then I reckon its excellent and I'd have on ein a heartbeat. I was told there will be some coloured versions in future so may well snag one of those when they come in red/white or similar.Your Past is Not Your Potential...0 -
Just ordered.
in my opinon it looks quite different to the rapha soft shell jacket - material looks more insulated than teh soft shell - as previous poster says it does look similar to the assos winter jacket.
I have the soft shell and think its a great jacket for autumn/spring - just not quite warm enough for winter - unless i double up on the base layer (which gets quite sweaty). Hoping this will fill the gap. PLus the white panels make it maginally more pratical for low light riding.0 -
I have a Gore Tool jacket, it's all the winter jacket I'll ever need! This is it's third winter. Mine is all black and looks fine off the bike but is nicely fitted for on the bike. They do a few other colours though... You can pick them up for 100 quid in a few places.0

I tried one on at the Earls Court show, it is a quality bit of kit, just can't afford one , I'm waiting for the Shutt rain cape, that does look like good value at £59.00. I understand that Shutt do a lot of testing and tweeking before they release a product which is why there is normally a wait before stuff goes on sale but it's normally worth the wait as their gear is the sort of stuff that you are likely to keep hold of for quite a while.Sunday September Ultegra SL
