I need to replace the rear hub on the Pompino and will be doing lots of cyclocross so need a good quality sealed unit.

But i can't find any to fit the 120mm rear stays ?

Any recommendations ?

What do other Pompy riders use ?

Cheers

Simply replace the cartridge bearings - knock the old ones out and you'll find a serial number and you should find replacements online for £3-4 each
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • Thanks, but it needs replacing because its a double hub and the previous owner stripped one side.

I'd like to have it fixed/ fixed or fixed/ freewheel.

Most use a generic track hub, typically made by Formula or JoyTech in Taiwan. The Planet-X ones for £15 are fine and you can fit better quality bearings when they wear out. If you want something more durable look at Goldtec (not sure if they do flip-flop) and for something beautifully bombproof, White Industries

  • The White Industries hub is really nice and looks like it will last a lifetime.

    I'll double check Goldtech.

Have a look at Surly hubs, Brixton cycles sell them.
