i was wondering if i could make my tora's (09 i think) u-turn or if i would have to buy a new pair

yes you could. but it may be cheaper to buy new.

Well it depends on what the max travel was. If 130mm it can be done.

Take it apart and look for all travel spacers (as in the service manual)
