Whyte T-120 sizing help !!!

I'm looking at getting a new bike for the start of next year & the one that has caught my eye is the Whyte T-120S. The only problem is that i'm not sure on what size to order, a medium or a large :? . On the whyte website they state that a medium is good for 5'6" - 5'11" while the large is good for 5'10" - 6'2". Just for the record i'm 5'11" with an inside leg of 36" of large build .
I have riden both a number of months back & I thought the medium was a better fit than the large, but I'm not sure if that was just my initial reaction or that the large would be better for the long term once i get used to the slack head angle ?
What is easier to do, make a large bike feel smaller or a small bike bigger?
Any input on sizing & fit would be appreciated
Update :- I've just noticed that the whyte website have updated there sizing guide, it now reads medium 5'6" - 5'10" & large 5'10" - 6'2"
Sorry this may answer my own question, but would still like your expert opinion

Lucky you! Looks like it will be an awesome bike. I have a medium E120 xt, and am 5'10.5'' tall (this extra half inch being very important to me) I found the large was too high and did not offer enough clearance over the top tube. That said I realise the head angle is much slacker on the T120 which may negate that.
What I would say is 1, for 2 grand it has to be right so spend some time trying them again if you can, and 2, my hardtail which I had before the Whyte was too small and gave me chronic lower back pain. If you plan to do long rides it's better to have a decent length top-tube so you can stretch out and be comfy.
On reading back i'm not sure this will help, but either way hope you enjoy your new purchase!0 -
Cheers KulaBen, thanks for your feedback I'm still thinking of going for a medium but your right, when your spending that amount of money it needs to be right !!!0

With long legs and reach the cockpit may be a bit cramped....I have a Marin with the same frame and also have long legs, 6ft 2" and the large to me feels like a medium....the best advice as allways is to try, though I would recomend the large...0

It's better to get a longer frame and fit a shorter stem, than get a short frame and fit a longer stem.
Slack head angled bikes are designed to be used with a short stem, and fitting a longer stem will make the steering slow and unresponsive, and as the T120 has a low standover height, you shouldn't have any issues with clearance for the crown jewels in a size large.
Most people I've dealt with who are 5' 11+ are happier with Whytes in large.
....but, as advised by others...try before you buy!
T120's due in UK in December!0 -
Any other ideas, I need to order soon0

I would go for the large, as the frames are on the small side...I am 6fty2" with a 34" inside leg have a large and have had to get another longer stem and run my Thomson post really high...0

Whyte have a few demo bikes floating around...if spanking £2k i'd seriously follow the other guys' advice and try them out. Speak to your LBS and they will organise one. I recently had a 146 for the weekend so you can give them a good try-out.
I have a medium E120 as I found the large...too large but I know people the same height as me who found the medium too small.
But as KulaBen has already pointed out the new head angle may negate this.
Not wanting to sound like a stuck record but TRY TRY TRY BEFORE YOU BUY.0
