Fitting 105 brake caliper question
Hi, I'm awaiting arrival of front and rear 105 5600 brakes to replace the standard no-name ones on my Specialized Secteur.
I've also ordered 105 brake cables, but am wondering if fitting these is necessary or beneficial, or if I can just use the existing cables and not have to mess around with removing and replacing the bar tape?
Bike has done <1000km from new so far so there shouldn't be any issue with the existing cables being worn.

If you current calbes are OK then just use them and keep the new ones for when you need to renew,I have only two things to say to that; Bo***cks0

You can use your existing ones. It will save all the hassle of removing the bar tape, trimming the new ones to the correct length and re-taping your bars again. Just be careful when clipping the cable end off that the cable doesn't fray as it's a pain in the bum to thread it through the adjustment bolt.0

Thanks both for the info. In the end I decided to go the whole hog and fit the cables, and put on some nice new Fizik bar tape when I was done0
