I'm looking into taking a MTB leadership course for work purposes. I have found information on the MIAS course (http://www.afanmtb.com/page2.htm) and the TCL course (http://cycle4adventure.co.uk/tcl.html).

Does anyone have any experience with either of these courses? Which one is the best one to go for? Otherwise, are there any others that you can suggest?

I have done the TCL course and found it very good.
It has improved my knowledge no end and I am glad I have doen it, although not usuing it in a professional capacity.

from the TCL, you can go on and do MBL, which requires a lot more skills.

  • I've done the MIAS level 2 one and it was a brilliant weekend.

I know do guided rides and skills coaching in the Devon area and make a few extra quid a month.

I did mine with Fully Sussed (Maddie and Jay Horton) on Dartmoor.
  • I can also vote for the TCL - and definitely go on to do the MBL too. You'll get a lot out of the training, even if the qualification isn't necessary. We did ours with Jules at Cycle Wild Scotland in Aviemore. He's a great tutor and it's a top place to ride. Add on a few more days to ride while you're up there.
