HI, i have acquired a Colnago frame but i am having trouble in identyfying it. At first i was told it was a dream but the sloping downtube suggests otherwise. My next thought was an Oval Master but its not titanium, i then settled on an Asso but its Altec Zonal tubing and i dont believe that tubing was used on an Asso but on a VIP2000.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure how to post pictures on here so here is a link

FWIW Dream was produced in sloping toptube in 46 and 48cm size - tubing was typically Airplane and is distinctly profiled which yours isn't. Columbus Zonal which would suggest a lower model i.e. VIP or Asso - I wouldn't attach too much importance to the paint finish an WC stripes which probably refers to Freire's win for Rabo in 2004 than the Lampre colourscheme. It's unlikely that this frame was actually produced by Colnago, but sub-contracted out to another, lower-cost builder in order to offer them a broader range of product.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • WOW thanks for that, ive stuck it on Ebay now as an Asso. So i would of been right then predicting 2005?
