Heart rate monitor for two users?

Hi all

I am looking to buy a heart rate monitor budget up to £80 ish.

The problem is my wife will be using this as well so we need to be able to set it up for two different users.

I just need the basic functions, HR, Av HR, Max HR, Calories used and zone indicators. Must also display a stopwatch whilst training.

I had my eye on a Polar RS100 but it doesn't appear to allow more than one user.

Any recommendations?

I could really do with some help with this please. I am sick of finding a HRM which I like the look of then downloading the manual to find you can only have one user.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

Garmin watches support multiple users, you might be able to pick up a cheap Forerunner.

I use a Polar RS 400, which i believe can be set up for 2 users, though i haven't tried to use it that way. I got mine from http://www.heartratemonitor.co.uk/polar_rs400.html

i've asked the question on the Polar RS400 user site.

I use mine with me as the only user so perhaps I'm missing something fundemental, but I'm not sure what you're trying to get out of it. Is it just the opportunity to have two different maxHR figures built in so that you can see a personalised HR% figure during the exercise? If so I would have thought that simply changing this number each time you swap person would be just as simple (number of button presses) as changing the user profile.

As for keeping a log of your performance, isn't that a software issue rather than the watch itself?

i guess it is for different personalised zones as you say - perhaps it could record excercises into a different folder, therefore when you use the protrainer software, it would put the appropriate user files in the right user database?
I know the protrainer software allows you to manage multiple users, e.g. team data, but i don't know if it relies on different input devices for each user, of if they can be shared on one HRM watch.
I don't have my RS400 on me at the moment, but i can have a look at it tonight when i get home & see if there is a way to set it up as user 1 / user 2 on the wrist watch.

I've had a play with my RS400 and can't seem to set it up for two different users.

    Sorry

Keep an eye on the Forerunner 305 on Amazon - the price changes all the time, but I've seen them at less than £100 recently. If you get one you'll soon appreciate how much more useful it is having a complete log of your runs/rides compared to just average HR.
    More problems but still living....
