Hayes ghetto bleed kit adapter needed

Need to service a Hayes Sole rear brake that has been sat in a box for 5 years and has leaked and gone spongy. I want to pump in new fluid and do a bleed, I have a syringe, aquarium hose and hose clamp for the caliper but need to bodge up an adapter for the master cylinder port. Anyone know what will fit into the port and into some hose. I know you get the adapter in a bleed kit but I dont want to spend £15 just for the one part. It looks like the straw you get on a WD40 can might fit anyone used this.
