This is a better buy, but the Carrera is very highly rated.

I think that is debatable
The Fury is an excellent bike for the money, excellent value. The only thing is that halfords often have deals on and the Fury can often be had for about £70 less if you were willing to wait for a 'sale'.0 -

The fury can be had for £130 less though when halfords have the "sales".0 -
Both true, but it isn't at that price at the moment
When the Fury is reduced another £100 or so then it's almost impossible to beat. And now you know, and knowing is half the battle

I have a Fury, highly recommended. Served me very well down all sorts of trails.
I only paid £440 for mine from Halfords so I would advise you wait for a sale!0 -
I looked at one of these and definitely wish i could afford one, lovely looking bike, good weight and a good spec.
They knock another 10% off at the basket so only £540 at the moment, go for it, no matter what bike you get, one of the shops will have it cheaper a few months after you buy it anyway! The law of the sod.0 -
yes it is only £540 at the moment with a £20 free accessories voucher. hope to have it in the next 3 weeks ready for some winter riding. but i have heard the tyres are s$%t so sould i upgrade them.carrera fury0

Cracking value at £650. Not a £1k bike when you consider you can get a Boardman pro HT for the same money, that's better specced.
At £650 it's way better than current offerings from the likes of Spesh and Giant et al.Cool, retro and sometimes downright rude MTB and cycling themed T shirts. Just MTFU.

I had problems at 1st with pinch punctures.
I changed the inner tubes, a bit of slime and got advised on the right pressures for my approx weight etc.
I use it for commute and MTB and no problem with grip and its used in different conditions.
The bike is balanced well .
If you can wait for sale it could be worth it for you.0
