Exposure Strada - does it cause HRM/Computer interference?

Hi Folks,

I'm looking for a new front light to replace my Dinotte 140L. I'm thinking about the Exposure Strada, but I need a light that will not interfere with my Polar CS400 HRM/Computer.

Do any Exposure Strada users out there have any issues with interference with wireless computers of HRMs?

Also, recommendations for any other good, bright, front light that doesn't cause interference issues would also be most welcome.

Thanks a lot

Dave

I use a Fenix L2D with a cheapo Halfords wireless computer and a £10 HRM without apparent interference. Mind you the HRM display is on my wrist rather than the bars, but when I'm on the hoods all 3 gadgets are pretty close together.

Only last night I clocked up a respectable 115 miles in 45 minutes at an average HR of 296.

I've got the Strada. Never had any problem with it interfering with bar mounted gadgets. Cateye wireless & now a Garmin 705 with HRM.

    They're a good bit o' kit.
  • Thanks for the replies chaps.

Andy162, I wonder how closely you have the light mounted to your Garmin? My computer is mounted on the stem (I can't move it due to other clutter!) so will be very close the the light.

I think my wallet is going to get lighter soon ;-)

    Cheers

I have my garmin on the stem and the strada bumping up against the side of it with no problems.

    Brilliant light by the way.....

same and i can only give positive feedback on exposures customer service as well, my remote switch was damaged so i sent it off to them. they replaced it for free.

    brilliant
  • Brilliant, thanks for the feedback gents. I will be pushing the button on one shortly!

    Thanks again

    Dave.
  • I used to have an Exposure Strada and a Polar HRM (sorry, can't remember the model) and I couldn't get proper readings in on the HRM when using the Strada. I used to wear the HRM on my wrist to get around the problem.
  • Ooops, just pushed to button on one - I'll just have to hope for the best, I guess. My polar is one of the more expensive coded ones, so I'm hopeful. Fingers crossed!

    Dave.
  • Oops, sorry I wasn't quick enough there. Just looked up what Polar I used to use and it was a 625x, also a coded model, so you still may have problems. Used to have them mounted either side of the stem and that wasn't enough distance to stop the interference. As I said, used to wear the HRM as a watch at night when using the light, but not sure you can do that with your setup!
  • No problem on the reply time, I probably should have waited longer. I have a CS300 as well, which can be worn as a watch, so I guess that's always an option for the depths of winter.

I'll post back with my findings, but I might get away with a return under the distance selling act if I need to.

    Cheers

Bugger, my remote switch packed up and think I didn't want to spend money on a replacement so I chucked mine out.

you dont ask you dont get
  • Thanks for all of you for your replies. My Strada has now arrived and causes no interference with my computer/HRM at all - which is great.

I was also immediately impressed with the quality of the product - a rarity these days.

The light works great and on main beam is plenty bright enough to ride safely at speed on unlit roads. Much better than my old light, which will probably find a new home via eBay.

Thanks again for your input and ride safe!
