Inner Tubes

Im building a bike with my dad and have been advised to get some lightweight innertubes-they mentioned Bontrager or Maxxis superlight ones. However, all the ones ive seen are reccomended for 1.9-2.125 inch tires, and ours are 2.3 inch. Would the afforementioned still fit, or do i need to look at something else?

They should be fine, but I'm not sure I understand.
If you're building a super lightweight XC race machine, why would you use 2.3s?
If it's not a super light XC race machine, why the need for super light tubes? They'll only pinch flat all over anyway.
I've been using These in 2.1-2.6 version from CRC because they are dirt cheap, but they're actually REALLY good tubes. I'm a big fella who bounces about over stuff I shouldn't and I've only had 1 p*ncture all year, and that was because I hit a breeze block that was covered by leaves square on.
Conti have some fairly light tubes, up to 2.5 too. as do Maxxis, and about a dozen other manufacturers.0 -
Its not a superlight xc bike, but we want it to be as light as possible, and im told rotational weight is the best way...0

Save a few grammes, easier to get puntures. I know what I would choose.I don't do smileys.

But if you're after as light as possible, surely a good 2.1 tyre with decent tubes are a safer bet :?
not trying to tell you you're wrong, just offering my opinion.0 -
I agree with CWNT on this one, if you want it to be light use smaller tyres for a start.0
