700x45 tyres

Girlfriend has a specialized crosstrail which has borough 700 x 45 tyres on it. They don't have much grip in wet muddy condition on bridleways. Anyone recommend a good knobbly tyre in this size or similar?

Really? 29 inch is 736mm(ish) what happens to the 36 mm oversize?700 x 35 Rocket Rons or just google cyclocross tyres
I had looked at cyclocross tyres but there was mention of punctures due to them being for racing on mud. Perhaps Im a bit paranoid. Also the 35mm width versus the 45 mm width made me wonder if there was anything a bit wider than the cyclocross 35mm tyres.Weaseling out of things is important to learn.
