super record front mech adjustment
hi all my front mech only seems to have 2 to 3 mm of clearance from the crank arm when on the big ring, it seem very close. if i adjust the limit screw inwards to give it more clearance i cant get the shift to go from the small ring to big
any advice cheers

If you mean clearance between the top of the teeth and the bottom of the outer edge of the mech then that's pretty much right! I have mine set to less than 1mm of clearance with no issues in over a year of use.
The stop screws are there to 'stop' the mech from shifting too far out or in - not for clearance.
Clearance between mech and chainring is adjusted by moving the mech up/down the seat post.0 -
Adjust the outer position of the mech when in the big ring / small sprocket - the cage only needs to be outboard enough to prevent the chain rubbing - make sure mech cage is parallel with chainrings too i.e. not angledMake mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

I'm not sure I understand the problem...
It shifts fine and nothing rubs so why do you want to change anything?
If there's 2mm of clearance between the mech and the crank as it comes round each revolution then sure that's fine? It's not like the crank or BB or derailleur is going to flex enough to cause a problem2010 Trek 1.5 Road - swissstop green, conti GP4000S
