Hi peeps,
Nice simple one,
I'm looking for a new top/jacket type thingy, but what to get
I've got normal jerseys, arm warmers and gillets but what is the next step?
Last winter I bought an Endura night vision pro jacket and wore it twice.. basically it was only good if it was really raining - and well, if it was really raining.. I wouldnt end up going out in it.
I'm looking for something that is the stage inbetween gillets that is waterproof but not as big and as cumbersome as the night evo pro jacket.
Does anyone have any suggestions. Budget I guess is about £60 ish?
Ta,

I'd bust the bank for a Gore Phantom II . I got one brand new off Ebay for £75 (lucky i guess)
THey are fantastic jackets and with detachable arms good for spring and autumn as a Gilet too. Great materials and not overly flashy,so, will last you years.0 -
how about a lightweight shell to go over the top of jersey etc.
i've got a jacket, but it's strictly winter only
the rest of the time i find a rain or windproof over jersey/baselayer is plenty and it's easy to open or take off once warmed up
castelli "sottile" is a nice simple waterproof, packs up small, it's a bit stretchy to avoid/reduce flapping in the wind
they also do one called 'leggero' which is much more breathable, windproof, but more a showerproof than waterproof, packs very small as well, either one will go in a jersey pocket with bags of room to sparemy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -

UP here that winter jacket is used through Autumn and Spring when it's still freezin :shock:0 -

wuss.
As to what to wear, for colder weather last layer would be windproof something, either gillet, or if it's colder windproof jacket. But if it's cold and raining then non windproof jacket with waterproof jacket. Or a bit warmer waterproof jacket ontop of jersey. If it's warm/hot and raining then wouldn't bother with waterproofs (except for overshoes)
Maybe showerproof / waterproof gillet? Ok if your arms get wet, but chest stays warm/dry.Say... That's a nice bike..
