Need to get a cassette removal tool, chain link extractor and wire cutters.

Best to just get the wiggle tool kit, or buy the bits I need as I need them from somewhere else as they are better quality?

Any recommendations?

Thanks

  • The chain tool is the one you want to invest some money on... don't buy a rubbish one because it will break instead of your chain.
The park lockring tool is fine...

As for cable cutters, go for the traditional design, the newer ones are not very good... no need to buy cycling specific ones, they're just overpriced... go to your local tool shop and buy one there

To remove the cassette, I don't use a chain whip as I've never got on with them personally. I use the Pedros Vise Whip which does the job so much easier. +1 on the chain tool.

No worries with the chain whip is you use it on top or bottom sprocket - you only need it to stop the cassette from turning.
Get a lockring tool with a handle - one less thing to slip / scrape knuckles.
Don't scrimp on the chain tool - get one with a replaceable drive pin
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

the cassette tools which come with their own 'handle' are the best. Like this:

as for chain tool, the Pedros one is good for the workshop.
