loud clicking when pedalling?

recentley when pedalling I hear a loud clicking noise..any ideas what it could be?

have a read of the sorting noisy drive train in the FAQs.
it could be:
pedals
chainrings
cranks
BB
seat post
saddle
bars
gear shifters/brake leavers
hubs
Fork
cracked frame
hubs
and a few other things.

Use cleats? good chance they are a bit worn and need replacing (if it is in time with pedalling)...

Or maybe front mech cable ... always annoying to find that one clipping the cranks.
