Well what a lovely set of new bikes and different style of road riding.

But you cant try them ??? Who in there right mind is going
to give over a grand away for a bike they dont know how
it is going to feel like on the open road surfaces.

Had to read that twice. I presume you mean the display stand at the bike show not some new workstand product as I originally thought! :)

    (Quite agree with you though!)

I think if people on here are honest, loads of us have spent big on bikes without a test ride, I know I have

Can't you try one at Ribble's offices?

Read the bike mags and research on the net on here and then use your own judgement, more than a few minutes ariound the block could ever tell you. Wiggle have a great system a 30 day test ride with a return at the end should you not want it.

A Ribble Scuro RS frameset has won a Stage on the Giro with Scarponi this year so not a bad frameset think the pilot helped though :)

I bought an Aero TT from Ribble without having tried or having even seen one in advance (apart from photos!).

It was my first TT bike and I wouldn't have had a clue what it should feel like anyway. I hated it for the first couple of rides, even after having it fitted properly. A few adjustments (including changing the saddle!), and some getting used to it and I find it really comfortable now.

Probably because you had nothing to compare it against except your old bike.

Maybe if after you'd bought your untested bike I gave you a test ride on some of the other bikes you could have had for the money you might develop a few regrets if one or more of them were better than what you'd just bought.

    But then you'll never know.

Flanners its obvious to look at mags and on line reviews and do the home wok
But If i do what your saying and then go and buy when I tried a Pinerello
I hated the ride and had been £ 2,500 out of pocket and stuck with a crap
    ride for me.
So yes after doing the home work il least want to go and try it out
obvious it will give me an idea for vibration on the hands/body etc on
cobbled or divits on the road and if any flex when you accelerate

Life's too short to worry about it. If you spend money and get a nice bike that you like then just go and enjoy it :)
