I want to if it's available to run single up front with a 10 cassette on the rear on a Last Herb DH bike.

I already have a Saint rear mech which I'd like to use.

So the questions are:

will the saint do for a 10 speed cassette?

Will any single speed chain ring work on the front or do you need to get one specific for the thinner 10 speed chain?

And if anyone has this set up which components are you running?

It shouldn't work because the pull ratios are different I believe.

I think your best bet is a 10-speed road cassette if you've got a saint rear mech and pair it with the ultegra 10-speed flat bar shifter.
