Hello people, first time poster here so please be gentle. I'm looking for ideas and recommendations on what to spend my £1000 c2w voucher on through halfords. I know you can order most bikes through halfords or leisure lakes but I'm spending so much time browsing the net, I think my other half is going to kill me. Please help

What type of bike are you after?
Road, Mountain or Hybrid?
If you are filling to spend the full amount have a look at the Boardman range
They do Road, Mountain and Hybrid nikes
These bikes always get good reviews –
Fist though you need to decide what type bike you want?... must train harder0 -
I've already got a hybrid that I've had loads of fun on over the last year (including my first sportive) so deffo a road bike. Ive been looking at the boardman team carbon due to all the rave reviews, but the fact that halfords have put it back up AGAIN, and the longing for somthing a little different is driving me all over the net. Any £1000 recommendations would be appreciated. I really fancy a Ribble but have phoned direct they have said "sorry but no" to the halford scheme

Crikey, so they have.
Try and haggle. Managers normally have a bit of grace with such things and if you move quickly you should still get one for a grand.Boardman Elite SLR 9.2S

If you join british cycling don't you get a 15% off at Halfords voucher?I like white bikes0

Have you tried Pearson Cycles, Surry or Condor Cycles, they will accept Halfords vouchers.
Decent ally frame with good components would be better than an entry level carbon.
Good Luck0 -
Just checked the Leisure Lakes website = CAAD 90

I think Planet X will accept them (for a fee)?"And the Lord said unto Cain, 'where is Abel thy brother?' And he said, 'I know not: I dropped him on the climb up to the motorway bridge'."

Thanks for all the advise chaps, I'll try the condor site when it comes back online.
The CAAD9 at leisure lakes looks a really good buy but the sizing is an issue for me as they only have a 56 in stock and im realistically a 54.
Thanks mclarent I really like the look of the Planet x SL Pro Carbon SRAM Red, so much that I got genuinely excited, but ive just been on the phone to planet x and they said it was a no go with the halfords vouchers
On the plus side I popped into the local halfords and asked about the price hike on the team carbon, and the nice guy there said he could probably reduce it back when i get my voucher next week........ but im still not sure about the boardman???
Do I try and snap one up now (supply is getting very limited)? Do I wait for the 2011 boardman? or do I wait to see what leisure lakes can offer when their 2011 stock starts coming in?
Head well and truly up chuff.

I'd just get the Boardman whilst and if you are able to if I were you, it's a great bike and I doubt the 2011 model will have an uprated spec and the price may be higher too.
Many brands are either down speccing or increasing the price of their 2011 models over the 2010 versions.Ribble Gran Fondo

sorry, feel guilty now!
lol... no worries matey, I soon stopped crying and after the counselling sessions I'm feeling much better.I'd just get the Boardman whilst and if you are able to if I were you, it's a great bike and I doubt the 2011 model will have an uprated spec and the price may be higher too.

I think you may be right Mr Roman, I just didnt like the idea of buying a 2 year old model when a nice shiny new one could be just round the corner. The recent price yo-yo has made me think that the retail markup on this bike has been slowly eaten away with the current economy fluctuations.
Any road up, my voucher came through the door today and i think i shall bite the bullet and phone the local halfords chap this evening.
Thank to all for make this a pleasurable first post, helping me in my decision and easing my google finger.
Now.....hmmm... what add on's can I buy?... wheels? saddle? new shoes and pedals???...... god bless the internet.

Boardman Team Carbon without a doubt. Fantastic bike for the money, yes next year's is just around the corner, but you won't get it for £1,000.
I love mine, tried out enough other brands to make me feel like I was getting the best bike.Only a recommendation.Limited Edition Boardman Team Carbon No. 448
