Ad import duty and VAT and you'll be paying near enough 25% more than the straight currency conversion price, so about £625 plus shipping and any duty handling charge.

I'd stick with the on-one carbon if I were buying.

Except you don't have to pay import duty on things that have already been imported and are being sold in the UK. And VAT is included in the price.

I have no idea about how it rides etc.

It's worth a punt, the rest of their stuff is pretty good and highly recommended.

My preference would be an on-one though, no mention of CEN testing on the exotic which would put me off a bit.

Noooo idea what the Beginner is going on about

Still wouldn't buy it mind. Exotic do sell good stuff but remember they're just a catalogue rebrander, they don't make anything (or at least, that's the case for most of it) they choose their items well and their prices are often great but you can't assume that just because one bit is good the next will be.

Got their forks though and they are ace. Not to mention identical to the enormously more expensive Nukeproof ones.

Got carbon forks, alu stem and carbon/ti seatpost. All very exception value. I still bought the on-one carbon frame though, but on pre-order when it was £400, its now £600.

exotic are a brand of the actual manufacturer hence why are cheap - in essence it is their own stuff.

the carbon rims where reviewed on here:

not a fantastic review. I still rate their finishing kit though.

stem and full carbon seatpost here, brill stuff would buy more if they made it in white but as it is I've ordered some of that Merek stuff for my Maxlight build.

The rims are probably the only component they do that I don't get. I think the review was spot on.

Ah, didn't know that! So it's like HT vs Superstar for pedals then. Do they make all their own kit?

Not sure of the exact details, but I think the parent company makes most of it!

IME eXotic Carbon Cycles are best avoided - Shockingly, shockingly bad customer support.

I bought a "27.2mm" carbon seatpost from them that was too big to fit either my Dekerf Team SL or Isaac Pascal. Neither frame has any problems fitting any of my 3 other 27.2mm seatposts.

I explained all this to eXotic and asked for a replacement/exchange.

EXotic refused to accept that the seatpost was faulty, refused to exchange it and implied that the seatpost not fitting was somehow my fault.

eXotic Carbon Cycles = Appalling, shockingly bad and ultimately demoralising customer service.

you can always return it under the standard distance selling regs providing you spot in time.

That is pretty shocking behaviour though. If they did that I would post up their emails and a photo of the post with calipers measuring it on places like this and send them links.
