I have some Pike 454 Dual Air forks, and I assume it is fine to apply a little Red Rum to the uppers/dust seals then cycle as part of the cleaning process, as advised.

However, cn you do the same with rear shocks too?

all it is is an assembly lube. so yes fine for lubing up seals.
