Shimano HONEChainset Question

I’m after a bit of technical advice regarding a Shimano crank/chain set I have just got on a used Stumpjumper frame I just bought.
The set is a HONE, which after Googling appears to be a few year old beefed up version of the LX. This setup is a twin chainring and bashguard, but I want 3 chainrings, does anyone know if I can just replace the 2 inner rings for new ones and swap the bashguard for a large chainring, or would the setup be different? Also is there any information anywhere as to which chainrings can be fitted to which cranksets?

My current Kona Blast, which is the donor I am swapping some parts from for the new build, like the fork (Tora 302 Air) wheels (Hope Hoops on Flow rims) handlebars (Easton) etc, has FSA Alpha Drive Exo Powerdrive chainset, and I think the HONE will be better if I can do what I want with it.

The BB feels a bit rough, so replace that, but that is easier for compatibility, probably going for a Hope one.

Thanks.
