Right, shiny new Cotic Bfe frame getting delivered tomorrow and I've got the new wheels, bars, stem, mech etc ready and waiting to swap everything over from my Crush. Logically, I should be spending this evening stripping the Crush down so that I can get the Bfe built up tomorrow ready for Tuesday as I have the whole day off work for a ride.

However, I'm actually feeling a tad sad about about getting rid of my first proper bike. As others have come and gone over the last 3 years, the Crush has always been there. So instead, I'll be having one last ride on Tuesday as way of a send off. :(

  • Beautiful bike man. What you doing with the frame when you swap everything over. Quite a nice looking spec sheet.

Cheers fella. The frame will be up for sale next week along with the wheels and all the red & black bits (replaced with blue & white for new frame.)

I think. Not sure if I can do it! Just like the end of a long term relationship, but has to be done. I need to post some stuff to Austria next week so I'm sure we can come to some agreement if you're interested
  • I'm skinnt at the moment, and will be until next November which is too far away.

What do those bikes normally run for a used model, either frame or semi built. I ride normally only XC, but have started really taking a liking to some of the downhill parts of the mountains i ride, and have found a 100mm HT just isn't good enough for any downhills that I have around here. Playing with idea of getting a second bike in a month or 2 with full suspension or maybe just a long travel HT.

How do the crushes ride? Anx faults with them? What kind of riding do you normally do?

I've only ever seen 2 others of these, the last one was up for sale on here recently I think (may have been stw,) for £700 which was ridiculous.

It really is a fantastic ride, was always more bike than I needed. Off the peg it was about 33lb and very much for fr/dh but with a few changes its a more reasonable 30lbs and its only now I'm appreciating what it can do. Last outing at Llandegla, I was waiting around at the top of the climbs for my mate on his yeti asx but then right up his arse on all the descents and thats a 7" 38lb beast.

This was the last of the proper ones before they became all skinny and ctw friendly, so not sure how the newer ones ride in comparison. I would imagine it much more suited to Austria than a 100mm xc bike!

    llandegla is awesome fun.

the new ones are more "wimpy" than the old ones but i think they would be more of a trail/am bike as it has 140mm of travel.

btw nice bike. was always a fan of these
