Bought some new Santini bib shorts and wore them for the first time today but im unsure if they are to small for me, so how should bibshorts fit you? whenever i took them off you could see where the bib straps had left an imprint at the top of my shoulders, is this the norm?

Sound a bit too small to me. I size mine on my height and nothing else and they all seem to fit really well. I have not had any marks on my shoulders before. I'm sure an expert will be along shortly............ :D

I'd say a size up would probably be better for you, as long as this doesn't leave them loose elsewhere.
    Cycling weakly
  • The next size up is for the same height but a heavier rider

If they are comfy then its fine if they felt too tight then they are too small. I have imprints from all the seam, straps and silicone on all my shorts. I have Santini Slice and they are the same they are not so good in other ways though.

Contact Mick & Andy at Prendas to discuss.

  • I also have imprints - I'm not sure how you can't have any. I guess I should post a photo to show what I mean.

Compared to Assos and PI the pad isn't as comfy. But the main thing is is that they dont hold your tackle in place, it all tends to go down one leg. I think this has something to do with the seam and panel arrangement. I thought I would try a pair of 'cheaper' shorts but they dont fit me as well as other shorts that I have worn. The quality of the lycra is very good its just the engineering.

Bib short straps shouldn't dig into your shoulders, they should be comfortable without being restrictive.

Of course the prendas shorts are not going to be as good as Assos or PI, or Castelli for that matter, there is a quality difference in the insert and quality of fit here. As well as price of course.
