Retro Look Wheels, £150 max (credit crunch and all that)

Folks,

I have got myself a little project and need some nice wheels without all the fancy decals, etc. Ideally, the wheels would be silver and have 32 spokes, oh, and I've got about £150!

Anyway, the wheels must be 9 speed Campag. I think the Khamsins look the biz in terms of spec and price but they just won't look right (in my opinion) on an older frame because they are black and a bit fancy. Tried fleabay but the wheels there at the mo are either blingtastic or on their last legs.

Any thoughts? Many thanks in advance.

I have some very nice Campag Record with Mavic Open Pro Rims, beautiful condition, here's a picture of them on my old LOOK: -

Just thought my future son-in-law has some Record/Open Pro in silver as well, mine are in just a little better condition though
  • Love the old Alan!

Buy some retro wheels with Mavic GP40 rims or similar on ebay for peanuts, then rebuild the rear with a modern freehub (Campag or Ambrosio, but I'd keep it silver). Leave the front as is for max retro.
