Right, new pedals needed and i cant decide what colour to go for. I have black ones on there at the moment but fancied either white or red. What do you think? Bike below.
I was thinking if i got the red ones then perhaps they wouldnt match up exactly and they might look a bit out of place
The other question is, where to get them from?

i'd say white on there0
-
White DMR's for sure !!!!0
-
Another vote for white here, I think red will blend in and look a little too busy if you know what I mean, and white would stand out and look superb with those forks and mudguard as well.0

that's pretty conclusive cheers
Wellgo or superstar?0 -
I recommend superstar, great value for money, and have heard rave reviews about them.0

+1 for White superstars...It's all in the glory!!!

cant rate HoB highly enough had about 10 purchases from them in the last few months and everyone has been on the doorstep the following morning. had a slight problem with a spd not spinning as freely as it should and they stuck a replacement in the post and asked me to return the faulty one in the pre paid envelope . excellent service0

Actually, white superstar pedals with red pins.
Today CWNT is all about the superstar pedals and coloured pins!0 -
Grey wellgos - might be a bit boring but work well with light cranks and don't show up the chips.0

Do you have any experiance with the coloured pins?
Would be interesting to know if the colour lasts more than five seconds0 -
No experience of the coloured pins, but I am sure they are only available on the mag types not the nanos..It's all in the glory!!!

I will have when my new ones arrive
Don't think they'll wear TOO badly.0 -

You can buy them as spares and they fit perfectly into Nano Thru-pins
I like the pin design on them more than the colour and will be getting a set when my current pins wear out0 -

Ah, so 10 seconds, maybe 15 at a push0 -
As per product advice on the Superstar site:
"Works perfectly with our Nano thru and Ultra Mag pedals. Will fit other pedals like nano tech and mag lite but will not be flush fitting. 2 packs needed for a pair of pedals"0 -
Are the coloured pins not aluminium? If so it won't be the lifespan of the colour you need to worry about, it'll be when they all smear themselves flat on the first big rock strike.
I'd go black or white on that, both look pretty nice when they wear in. Red unless it's a perfect match won't look right.Uncompromising extremist0 -
They are designed to shear off so that they can still can unscrewed and you get extras if you have Nano's
It is annoying they are alloy though, maybe I will look for some steel through pins from a hardware store0 -
Alloy'd be nice enough on an XC bike though. But steel just makes more sense.Uncompromising extremist0
-
This is the one thing I don't liike about Superstar, they don't make thru-pins for their thru-pin pedals and they don't offer you a choice between steel and alloy for the replacement pins. I am aware they do grub screws but again, they don't offer the choice of steel or alloy, just steel0
-
Oh, so if you lose a thru-pin you just end up with a grub screw type? That's not ideal. I suppose to be fair to them they're still better for spares than most but I'd kind of taken for granted that they'd do the full range.Uncompromising extremist0
-
The grub screws won't fit properly I don't think
And I hate grub screws anyway, thats why I went for the thru-pin pedals in the first place0 -
Been dealt a bit of a blow.
I emailed superstar to see when their pedals will be back in stock in White and they aren't back until the end of October. So it looks like the wellgos have won by default!0
