The 'Set' button had disappeared into the body of my Velo 8 computer and is permanantly pressed. I'll have to open up the computer to get it out; looks like its glued together though.

Any hints and tips? The thing's only a few months old and I'm loathe to chuck it.

I presume you've had a fiddle around with a small flat screwdriver around the edges of the button to try and get it back into place?
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

If it's only a few months old why not take it back to the shop/website you bought it from and get a new one?

Don't bugger around with it yourself, you'll void any warranty.

:D You're right, bit of a jiggle with a pencil and it's popped back out again.
