hello fellow Noobs. I have recently added angled bar ends to my Handlebars. As a result the room left for my hands(even after moving all controls in 30mm) is not enough. I want to change the bars to wider bars, the question is do I need to change the riser as well? It looks like the longer bars seem to get thicker and would not be supported by my Riser Clamp. I currently ride a bog standard, cheap as chips Fuji Nevada 1 and the bars are just to narrow for my rather chunky  hands.

  • The part that holds the bar is called a stem. They come in two sizes, 25.4mm and 31.8mm. All you need is to get a bar with the right size centre bulge.
