Bottle cages & buzzing?

Does anyone else have any problems with bottle cages and buzzing? I thought it was my stem/headset/bars at first, but it turns out it's the bottle holder when carrying a full water bottle. As a result I can feel the vibrations right through the frame and bars. Other than drinking my water, how would I go about fixing this?

On that note, I have the Specialized Rib cage bottles. Does anyone else find them hard to get [SIS] 750ml bottles out of? It's been suggested to me that I remove a couple of tiny knobbles which grip the bottle, but I think I'd like new cages in hope of avoiding the buzzing too.

Any recommendations for some similarly decent looking black/red/white ones for under a tenner?

  • I've had this. I had to remove and tighten screws again, only seems to happen with 750ml bottle too

i had some cheap cages where the 'buzzing' was very apparent. Changed to some slightly better ones, and the buzzing went away.

Yes, I have Bontrager ones and one has started to vibrate like mad. I was out on a ride and first I thought my brake blocks were rubbing so stopped to check those, then I thought it was a loose headset so stopped to check that. Finally rode up and down minus the bottles and problem solved. It was like the VW advert with the woman and the sqeaky earring!
