Hi all, would you still rate this as a decent bike despite being a 2009 new old stock model.

Just looking for a new ride and with all the future price increase and down speccing thought this was a good deal.

Very good for the money. If you want a racy xc sorta bike lol.
  • yeah, nothing like having your head down and your arse in the air at the weekend.
  • My mate has one that looks similar. He loves it. He has put hope hubs on, and its has a Recon instead of Fox. It goes fast and true on trails.
Depends what you are riding. If its trails and singletrack definately worth looking at. If you are doing more technical stuff you may want something abit more chunky......

Agree with slowslowslow. I have an old Giant carbon which is fast but tends to bounce around on the technical stuff. My anthem lets me munch the nasty lines and its 'the fear' which limits my riding not the bike.

Remember you have the cash and new models are springing up everywhere.. reduce the salesman to tears ( or take along someone who can ). :)
Why tidy the house when you can clean your bike?
  • Mr Dog Speaks wise.

Think about the riding you are doing. I had a Stumpy Hardtail that was fine for Cannock and Arfan, then went full sus. Definatly holds the line better on technical and gives the confidence to hit things. If you might want to be doing that then you can get a decent full sus for the money and upgrade at leisure.

Think about where you ride most. go along and see what others are riding and ask questions................
  • Thanks for the replys. Will b e mostly singletrack and racing at the weekend and commuting during the week.
  • If that is your riding then I think it will do the job nicely. see if you can actually have a look before you buy to check it over.

My mate put some Hope pro 2 hubs and DTSwiss rims on. I ecently did the same and the change in speed and handlingfor both of us is very noticable.......
